Proposal - Rush
Title
The title of our film is Rush. This is because we
see our thriller as very fast paced and people rushing about a lot, so we
thought the name Rush was apt.
Treatment
Jack, the stalker, is seen texting on a phone. The
protagonist, Vicky receives said text “If you want to see your friend again,
you have 60 seconds. You’d better rush.” We then see a shot of Vicky running to
the scene.
In between cuts of her running, we see distressful
scenes at the house, such as broken objects. This is when we’ll have the
subtitles appear of cast and crew members.
It then cuts to the house where we see the Jack and
Becky, which is short lived as it then fades back to Vicky, running frustratedly.
We see Vicky reach the house and get in. The light then flickers and we are
left viewing 3 silhouettes of the cast. The light fades out and a gunshot is
heard. When the lights come back on we don’t see anyone there other than a
puddle of blood coming from behind an object and the titles “Rush” appear.
Our thriller is inspired by Scream, for example we
see someone in danger after receiving a phone call, and in our we see our
protagonist getting a text.
The purpose of this film is to keep the viewer in
suspense throughout. We don’t want to give too much away, and we want it to be
enigmatic throughout, and keep the audience guessing.
The purpose of the opening of a film is to engage
the viewer, to make them interested in what you’re showing them. We feel our
opening will do this as it ends on a cliffhanger. Only we know who’s actually
died and it leaves the viewer wondering and wanting to continue to watch.
Audience Profile
Our main age range for Rush is 15-30 year olds, and
is not specific to gender. This is because we feel that students would like a thriller
with people their age as they can relate to the characters. We don’t feel it
would be suitable for under 15’s due to violence and gore. Our demographic focus would be groups D and E.
This is the general student area and target age. Our psychographic audience
will be mainstreamers as it’s a very broad film and we feel it’s using a
trending storyline so people will want to watch it.
Exhibition of Rush
Our film will be exhibited to other students at the college in the
classroom and people who find the thriller on YouTube.
